This does attract a competitive shift allowance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide server, network and application monitoring including reporting, alerting and basic troubleshooting to ensure system stability across the Markerstudy environment.<\/li>\n<li>Manage incidents by responding to and coordinating activities for high priority systems and outage events triggered by existing monitoring tools or tickets dispatched from the Service Desk.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out support activities on behalf of other resolver teams as required.<\/li>\n<li>Help troubleshoot and solve system and service issues with resolver teams as required.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with technology colleagues, stakeholders and 3rd party partners.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to a continuous improvement culture which will look to improve practices, knowledge, skills and processes to increase service levels to customers and users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monitoring <\/strong>&#8211; Monitor systems and services, ensuring issues are identified and alerted \/ escalated appropriately in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Incident management &#8211; <\/strong>Manage Major Incidents ensuring key technical resources are brought together to investigate and resolve.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Notification and escalation<\/strong><strong> &#8211; <\/strong>Provide accurate and business context communications to stakeholders on service\/system issues.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relationship Management<\/strong> &#8211; Build and maintain appropriate relationships with internal teams and 3rd<\/li>\n<li><strong>Operational activities<\/strong> &#8211; Support operational processes, system releases and system maintenance as required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>File system &#8211; <\/strong>Automating file and folder management including archiving and comparing files. <\/li>\n<li><strong>FTP &#8211; <\/strong>FTP server file tasks &#8211; adding, removing, renaming files, monitoring server. <\/li>\n<li><strong>System &#8211;<\/strong> Server restart, shutdown, monitoring and troubleshooting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application &#8211;<\/strong> Verify processes running, resource consumption and unauthorised software.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Microsoft IIS &#8211; <\/strong>Recycling application pools, monitoring web site and creating virtual directories. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Security &amp; compliance &#8211; <\/strong>Auditing changes to security policies, failed logons, admin accounts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Energy management &#8211;<\/strong> Energy management configuration tasks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>VMware vSphere Integration &#8211; <\/strong>VMware tasks, VM provisioning, snapshots, clone, configure and resolve VMware incidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Skills &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring system experience.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of virtualised infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient with ticket tracking systems.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>Experience within a technology operational team.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft 2003\/2008\/2016\/2019 Server Operating Systems<\/li>\n<li>LAN \/ WAN \/ WLAN support and trouble shooting.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of Cloud Technologies (GCP \\ Azure).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshooting\/diagnostic skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good documentation and organisation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Desire to learn new technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Analytical and data driven approach to problem solving.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well under pressure and juggle many tasks at any given time.<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding trouble-shooting and organisational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well in a team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why us?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Markerstudy Insurance Services Limited (MISL) is one of the largest Managing General Agents in the UK.
