This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and dedicated team of staff, providing high quality education to children and young people who have <strong>Social, Emotional and Mental Health<\/strong> needs. The role is to Teach Humanities, and potentially cover some English &amp; Food Tech. <br \/><strong>About the School<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Many pupils at the School are helped to develop their holistic needs when they may have struggled to succeed in another school.<\/li>\n<li>The School have a maximum of 55 Students, and only provide KS3 &amp; KS4.<\/li>\n<li>Many of their students have more challenging &amp; complex background, with a rigorous and academic education which challenges them, not only academically, but also in the terms of their place in society.<\/li>\n<li>Some of these students have been permanently excluded from Mainstream School<\/li>\n<li>The School aims to aims to help young people strive to develop positive behaviours and constructive attitudes and to overcome barriers to learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>About the Job Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working with a small number of students with neurodiverse needs to provide a person-centred and personalised curriculum, predominantly following <strong>KS3<\/strong> &amp; <strong>KS4<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To plan, mark &amp; deliver Humanities to KS3 &amp; KS4.<\/li>\n<li>To enhance the social, emotional, and academic skills of the young people you are teaching.<\/li>\n<li>To cover some English &amp; Food Tech lessons as well as Humanities<\/li>\n<li>To work in partnership with a number of Teaching Assistants and the Senior Leaders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SEN Teacher Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a UK recognised Teaching Qualifications such as Qualified Teacher Status (<strong>QTS<\/strong>), Cert Ed, BA Honours Degree with QTS or QTLS.<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 months experience working with young people with additional needs or behavioural challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Experience creating personalised curriculums and learning plans.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledgeable about behaviours linked to a range of additional needs including trauma, social, emotional, and mental health needs, ADHD, and Autism.<\/li>\n<li>Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> For more information or to apply for the position of Humanities Teacher in Hull, please contact Dena Gilles at GSL Education\u2019s Hull Yorkshire Branch as soon as possible.
