We have multiple Underwriting Assistant roles available within our Leeds office. <\/p>\n<p>As an Underwriting Assistant you will play a crucial role in providing technical and administrative support to our underwriting team. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate underwriting  data, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the underwriting process.<\/p>\n<p>With hybrid office working and excellent benefits including 30 days holiday, you will be working in a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative environment. We\u2019re the down-to-earth, international insurer that is neither too big nor small, so you can make a real  impact!<\/p>\n<p><b>Your new role<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand and align with the annual business plan for the respective business<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements to meet obligations<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to underwriting standards and best practices to minimize risk and maximise efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to recording and measurement of insurance risks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to performance standards<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Capture accurate underwriting data on systems to minimise risk and ensure high-quality information output<\/li>\n<li>Conduct research, prepare reports, and provide backup information to support the team and business planning<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the production of management information statistics and reports for the business planning process<\/li>\n<li>Provide general administration support to underwriting for the delivery of a professional service<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with colleagues as part of the extended service team to deliver superior service standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Essential skills: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A good level of numeracy and literacy, with clear organisational and prioritisation skills<\/li>\n<li>Team player skills with the ability to work collaboratively and develop successful working relationships<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce detailed reports at various levels<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving skills \u2013 demonstrates tenacity in handling and resolving queries<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Word, Excel and other departmental software packages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Desirable knowledge \/ skills: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic understanding of class specific underwriting knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Good Knowledge of underwriting systems<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Word, Excel and other departmental software packages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Why QBE?
