Have evenings to yourself and work 5 days a week without being under heavy pressure or stress, while working with fresh seasonal ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be joining the brand-new Neurological service, The Lakefields, which is opening early 2024. You\u2019ll lead the team of Chefs and Catering Assistants to prepare and freshly cook nutritious meals at scale for service users, staff and visitors throughout  the day. This includes catering for individual\u2019s needs and dietary requirements.<\/p>\n<p>There are regular activities, events and special occasions throughout the year which you\u2019ll also cater for \u2013 world food day, Christmas, Easter, family day etc. In other words, plenty of chance to be creative and do something different. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You and your catering team will run the kitchen to hotel\/restaurant standards, ensuring a smooth operation with a clean kitchen, tasty menu and happy \u2018customers\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate the day-to-day management of the catering team to run an efficient food production service.<\/li>\n<li>Seek feedback, develop and standardise seasonal menu items to ensure nutritious and high-quality food is produced.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the production of specialist diet menus, ad hoc diets for patients with very specialist dietary needs from specific dietetic guidance.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to any reported complaints or incidents, assisting with investigation and referring any unresolved complaints<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure that food hygiene standards are adhered to and service user satisfaction is met.<\/li>\n<li>To be responsible for stock management and equipment in the production areas, reporting issues or concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Planning and adjusting food and consumables orders to ensure responsiveness to patient\u2019s needs, in line with budget and wastage control.<\/li>\n<li>Manage efficient staff rotas, plan agency and overtime cover and ensure absences are covered within agreed budgets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To be successful as Head Chef you will need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Catering Diploma (City &amp; Guilds\/BTEC) and Health &amp; Safety and Food Hygiene Certificates<\/li>\n<li>Proven competency in nutritionally balanced menu planning<\/li>\n<li>Ability to cater for specific dietary needs<\/li>\n<li>Efficient stock control and budgeting<\/li>\n<li>Proven strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong organisational and planning skills<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you will get:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Annual salary of &#163;28,000<\/li>\n<li>The equivalent of 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) &#8211; plus your birthday off<\/li>\n<li>Free meals and parking<\/li>\n<li>Wellbeing support and activities<\/li>\n<li>Career development and training<\/li>\n<li>Pension contribution<\/li>\n<li>Life Assurance<\/li>\n<li>Enhanced maternity and adoption package<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are also a range of other benefits including retail discounts and special offers, car leasing without a credit check and much more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About your next employer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will be working for an established, stable and agile company with over 8,000 employees and a unique approach to the delivery of care.
