Infrastructure Engineer <\/p>\n

Position Description

Our in-depth space sector knowledge and our contribution to major technical advances ensure that we contribute to many of the worlds most prestigious space programmes, including Cassini-Huygens, Galileo, Copernicus, Inmarsat 4, MSG, MTG, MTSAT, Rosetta, Skynet and XMM-Newton. Our software has supported the missions of more than 200 satellites.<\/p>\n

CGI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to work on a project delivering and supporting mission-critical software.<\/p>\n

Please note: Due to the nature of the role, it’s not always possible to work from home. We ask that any prospective candidates are willing to travel to our Leatherhead office (Surrey) 3-4 days per week so please consider when applying. <\/p>\n

All candidates must be eligible to undergo SC clearance should this be required for any projects. <\/p>\n

Your future duties and responsibilities
Creation and maintenance of build and design documentation
Implementation of infrastructure solutions
Test and validation of solutions
Researching new COTS solutions and applying them
Maintain and monitor the sectors Development Environment
Provide updates on ongoing infrastructure tasks to Technical Leads and Project Manager. <\/p>\n

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
At least 2 years experience of infrastructure project implementation.
Able to travel to client site on an ad hoc basis depending on project requirements
VMWare\/Hyper-V Building\/setup and deployment of VM
Firewalls : Fortinet \/ PFSense\/ Juniper: install\/configuration\/ maintenance. Understanding of VPNs
Linux Administration Build\/configure\/maintain
Windows server Administrator Build and configure\/maintain
Windows Domain Administration (AD\/NFS\/DNS\/DHCP)
Configuration control : GIT\/ GIT Hub
Backups : Microsoft DPM\/ VEEAM
Basic Scripting Ansible\/PowerShell\/python<\/p>\n

Desirable requirements:
Understanding of 5G \/ Telecoms background
Experience of telco management and orchestration (MANO) systems
Understanding of satellite communications networks
Antivirus: eg McAfee
Docker
Dev Ops
NMS Zabbix\/ Grafana
Development system tools such as Ticketing systems (JIRA\/TRAC), Jenkins <\/p>\n
