JOB DESCRIPTION: <\/strong>Mig Welder – steel, metal fabrication
This is a classic production Mig Welder role, working in a 4-5 person cell team or leading a cell team depending on experience, manufacturing up to 1000 part numbers across both UK and international OEM clients.
You will be confident reading engineering drawings and your day to day responsibilities will include :
\u00b7 Set, operate and maintain the Mig and Tig Welding machines and related tools and equipment
\u00b7 Mig welding with mild steel
\u00b7 Read and interpret engineering drawings in order to lay out a welding project
\u00b7 Test and inspect welded surfaces to ensure compliance with customer’s specifications
\u00b7 Use measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to inspect the parts
\u00b7 Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as and when required
\u00b7 Some general fabrication duties such as cutting and smoothing metal components, using plasma cutters, portable grinders, etc., bore holes through metal workpieces using a drill press
\u00b7 Meet production deadlines
PERSON SPECIFICATION: <\/strong>Mig Welder – steel, metal fabrication
\u00b7 Mig welding experience in mild steel – Bench, JIG, Production, Fabrication
\u00b7 Previously worked with metal thicknesses of between 1mm – 20mm
\u00b7 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately – understanding weld symbols
\u00b7 Ability to work to strict time constraints and produce products to the highest standard, in line with customer demand
\u00b7 Positive ‘can do’ attitude
\u00b7 Excellent time-keeping and attendance
