The post holder will be expected to work<\/p>\n<p>across the Microbiology and Serology\/Virology departments. There is a rolling two week shift pattern which is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Monday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>Thursday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>Friday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Saturday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Sunday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Monday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Thursday: 20:30 \u2013 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Friday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>Saturday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>Sunday: Rest<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there is a flexible 3.5 hours of time to be made up each four-week period which is used for training and development. <\/p>\n<p><b>Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work competently and undertake responsibility for the delivery of the out-of-hours service provided in these departments.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain technical expertise within areas of work and provide advice to service users\/team members as required.<\/li>\n<li>Use specialist knowledge to determine appropriate testing as required.<\/li>\n<li>Produce complex and professional laboratory reports.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure work undertaken conforms to the procedures defined in local policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills &amp; Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration as a Biomedical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)<\/li>\n<li>Hold evidence of, and continue to demonstrate continual personal\/professional development ensuring up-to-date knowledge and working to high professional standards.<\/li>\n<li>IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Medical Microbiology, or equivalent experience (Min 2 years\u2019 experience working as a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist within a UKAS accredited laboratory)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>About the Facility <\/b><\/p>\n<p>HCA Healthcare UK \u2013 The World\u2019s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.
