Successful candidate will either already live in Bristol or<\/p>\n North Somerset or be in the process of moving here. As part of their growth and<\/p>\n development, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar PV Designer to join their<\/p>\n Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n The Solar PV Designer will be responsible for designing PV system designs, mounting<\/p>\n systems, stringing arrangements, instructing surveys, planning applications, grid<\/p>\n connection applications, refining system proposals and generally knowing and<\/p>\n advising on the whole gamut of solar PV and energy storage systems. This role<\/p>\n involves working closely with salespeople, operational delivery teams and external<\/p>\n customers to ensure designs meet needs of feasibility and profitability, and comply<\/p>\n with the current regulations and standards in the UK.<\/p>\n Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Designing PV systems , particularly industrial and agricultural.<\/p>\n 2. Preparing single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and shading analyses.<\/p>\n 3. Performing system performance evaluations and yield calculations.<\/p>\n 4. Preparing and reviewing detailed drawings and specifications for construction<\/p>\n projects, according to engineering sketches and design proposal specifications.<\/p>\n 5. Assisting with permit submission and coordinating with utility companies for grid<\/p>\n 6. Working with the sales and installation teams to develop design modifications as<\/p>\n 7. Keeping up to date with the latest design software, PV technologies and UK<\/p>\n 8. Providing technical support and training to other team members.<\/p>\n Qualifications and experience<\/p>\n 1. Bachelor\u2019s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field,<\/p>\n preferably from a BSc or similarly scientific or technical program.<\/p>\n 2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience designing solar PV systems, in which time they<\/p>\n will have designed to installation and completion dozens if not hundreds of such<\/p>\n systems in the UK.<\/p>\n 3. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.<\/p>\n 4. Proficiency in using CAD and PV*Sol software.<\/p>\n 5. Understanding of the rules around the IET Code of Practice for Grid Connected<\/p>\n Solar PV Systems, and similar codes for both solar PV and energy storage systems<\/p>\n 6. Will be able to demonstrate ability in predominantly the commercial sector, but<\/p>\n also the residential sector.<\/p>\n 7. String knowledge of the MCS standards and tools.<\/p>\n 8. Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards.<\/p>\n 9. Strong understanding of PV system components and their specifications.<\/p>\n 10. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.<\/p>\n 11. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.<\/p>\n 12.
