We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistants to join our team in Ashington.<\/p>\n
16 Hours Per Week<\/p>\n
What you\u2019ll be doing:<\/p>\n
Our Maintenance Assistant are responsible for carrying out minor general \/ fabric maintenance and business support tasks as well as PPM\u2019s and general reactive tasks across a number of stores.<\/p>\n
Reporting to the Multi-Site Technician, suitable training will be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to complete the following tasks (not an inclusive list):<\/p>\n
Weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm call point tests \/ water temperature checks, shower spray head clean and chlorination etc.).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Carry out weekly store defrost programme.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Minor building fabric repairs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Minor decorating tasks<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Minor plumbing tasks \/ repairs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Minor Joinery tasks \/ repairs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Minor general ad-hoc tasks<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
All completed within our Health, Safety & Environmental policies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

A broad range of practical skills and experience in a trade – i.e. Able to do the job right first time, within a pre-determined timescale.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
You will be positive and proactive in approach, possess good customer service skills and able to work in a fast – paced retail environment (as your role will be working during store opening hours)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Able to work independently (as well as within a team) so self-motivation is very important as well as being able to organise and prioritise own workload<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
IT skills would also be a benefit (we\u2019re not talking computer programming but knowing how to use a ‘tablet\u2019 and word, excel, emails etc is an advantage) as is good communication skills.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Be physically fit (as the role includes moving and lifting heavy items and using ladder.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
