\nVenesky-Brown\u2019s client, a public sector organisation in Forfar, is currently looking to recruit an Architectural Technician for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend for up to further 6 months on a rate of £165-195\/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n – Progress a diverse range of projects including housing, new builds, schools, leisure centres, offices and factories from feasibility, sketch and detail design stages to completion as directed by the senior architect. – Undertake building and land surveys and regular site visits to check quality of work.
– Manage projects and contracts as appropriate.
– Prepare project documents including detailed drawings, specifications and designer risk assessments for general construction projects.
– Undertake duties in compliance with statutory regulations and obligations e.g. Building and CDM Regulations
– Support the team leader and ensure a high standard of design and project management are achieved and contribute towards the section\u2019s objectives of delivering a quality service.
– Liaise with clients, consultants and other professionals within the team and outside organisations providing support services such as water, sewerage, fire and security services.
– Assist with the preparation of reports as required.
– Support and research innovative design solutions as required.
– Participate in the contractor selection process.<\/p>\n
– Willingness to undertake mandatory information governance training
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
– Experience of AutoCAD
– Technical knowledge of construction techniques
– Knowledge of building regulations
– Good oral communications skills
– Good written communication skills
– Ability to work as part of a team
– An interest in design
– Full, current driving licence
– Access to a vehicle
– At least 5 years relevant post qualification experience or be formally recognised by an appropriate technical body\/institution.<\/p>\n
