A well established Freight Forwarder is looking for a Customs Broker.
Job Scope
To provide a full customs brokerage service to all domestic and international clients
Main Responsibilities
\u2022 Create Customs declarations ensuring correct codes \/ schemes used for both import & export.
\u2022 Create transit documents and ensure Customs compliant.
\u2022 Prepare all paperwork for export, including raising airway bills.
\u2022 Liaise with customers and suppliers to obtain relevant paperwork.
\u2022 Arrange transport for both international and domestic from start to finish, updating on status and final POD.
\u2022 Cost and provide quotes for all enquiries, offering advice on transit and Customs formalities.
\u2022 Deal with any Border Force enquiries.
\u2022 Create records and ensure conformity of ETSF facility.
\u2022 Co-ordinate day to day schedule for drivers & use of subcontractors.
\u2022 Finalise file checking charges in preparation for invoicing.<\/p>\n
In addition, the post holder will be expected to:
\u2022 Undertake reasonable requests from managers in line with the range and scope of the post.
\u2022 The conduct of the post holder must be in accordance with the terms of any UK legislation e.g. employment legislation, human rights etc.
\u2022 Comply with the requirements of the Risk Management Policy, a copy of which is available on the Intranet.
\u2022 Demonstrate a professional attitude towards work, including confidential information.<\/p>\n
Competencies\/Personal Requirements\/Experience
\u2022 5 years\u2019 experience in a customs environment.
\u2022 Experience of imports and exports.
\u2022 Good understanding of customs systems, preferably Descartes, Conex, Boxtop.
\u2022 Good interpersonal communication skills including the ability to work within a team and interact across the Group.
\u2022 A logical approach to problem solving is essential.
\u2022 Ability to develop and build relationships both internally and externally.
\u2022 Strong customer focussed attributes.
\u2022 The ability to understand business and customer requirements and find solutions.
\u2022 Good general IT skills and understanding and a good knowledge of MS Office.
\u2022 Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
\u2022 Ability to work independently, using own initiative, remotely and outside of normal office hours.
\u2022 Be flexible when required and work within a changing environment.
Shift Pattern – 9am – 6pm
Salary – £30,000 – £35,000
