We are now looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to work on a permanent basis with our busy and friendly client based in Ilford, Greater London.<\/p>\n
You will be responsible for leading a team of HGV Technicians, overseeing the parts department and getting involved with diagnosing, repairing and maintaining Class 2, 7.5 Tonne and 3.5 Tonne vehicles. This is a hands-on position that requires strong managerial qualities as well as technical knowledge and problem solving skills.<\/p>\n
Shifts and Hours:<\/p>\n
– Monday to Friday – 06.30 to 15.30<\/p>\n
Duties:<\/p>\n
– Managing a team of HGV Technicians<\/p>\n
– Overseeing the parts department to ensure sufficient stock levels<\/p>\n
– Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements<\/p>\n
– Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles<\/p>\n
– Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems<\/p>\n
– Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues<\/p>\n
– Order parts and materials as needed for repairs<\/p>\n
– Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed<\/p>\n
– Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment<\/p>\n
Skills:<\/p>\n
– Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles<\/p>\n
– Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment<\/p>\n
– Knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions and brakes<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
– City & Guilds\/NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics OR qualified by experience<\/p>\n
