Provide review\/challenge to first line of defence on the management of these risks. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provide independent risk assessment on topics to senior Business and Service Unit management as well as RISQ&#8217;s management. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Participate in and contribute to first line operational risk committees with risk analysis and challenge, and where appropriate escalate to legal entity level committees. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Act as an advisor to the Business and Service Units on operational risks and associated processes, and propose solutions to address risks. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Develop knowledge and advise on (market) best practices related to risk management. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Take the lead on operational risk awareness and training sessions. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provide an opinion on exceptions to operational risk norms within risk appetite. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Participate or coordinate with other second line teams and third line exercises as well as regulator requests on operational risk. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Contribute to legal entity level risk management committees. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assist other RISQ OPE team members on their underlying areas of coverage in order to ensure back-up. <\/p>\n<p><b>Profile required<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Independent from the Business and Service Units, the RISQ Division is a second line of defence function whose mission is to contribute to the development of the SG Group&#8217;s activity by facilitating the objectives of the Business Lines while maintaining independent  oversight through risk evaluation and monitoring. <\/p>\n<p>The mission of the Operational Risk Second Line of Defence department (RISQ OPE) is to provide independent, objective and leading operational risk management challenge and oversight to assist the firm in maintaining an effective system of operational risk management. <\/p>\n<p>RISQ OPE conducts oversight of the governance, risk and control frameworks, and tolerances of Operational Risk. <\/p>\n<p>RISQ OPE provides proactive advice to help management to identify and measure key risks, and to evaluate controls in Business and Service Units. An objective is to ensure staff have appropriate awareness of the importance of operational risk management, which  is based on the principle that &quot;everyone is an operational risk manager&quot;. <\/p>\n<p>RISQ OPE organises and tests the soundness and efficiency of the operational risk framework, especially with respect to governance, risk identification and mitigation. <\/p>\n<p>The department based in London covers the SG London Branch and SG International Ltd (SGIL) entities. <\/p>\n<p>The role is in SG London Branch but involves work across both UK entities. The role focuses on Information Security and Technology related risks, which are often cross-entity. There is also scope to oversee risks beyond these specific areas. <\/p>\n<p>The Operational Risk Supervisor oversees the First Line of Defence&#8217;s management of its risks in the above areas. This involves assessing and providing independent opinion on operational risks that the firm is exposed to, and their management, including risk  identification, the control framework, residual risk and remediation actions. <\/p>\n<p>The Operational Risk Supervisor ensures that the processes and governance on operational risk implemented in SG London Branch and SGIL respect the SG Group policies and norms, and the SG UK minimum standards. <\/p>\n<p>RISQ OPE carries out its mandate using a risk-based approach, endeavouring to anticipate risks, and it is holistic in its consideration of risks.
