This is a full-time temporary role for the next 5 months, with the possibility of extension.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp; Grounds Maintenance Workers will&nbsp;undertake environmental and horticultural maintenance duties city wide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are your responsibilities?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under the direction of a supervisor, to carry out defined horticultural maintenance work to parks and other green open spaces to ensure that they are clean, safe, and attractive including (after suitable training):<\/li>\n<li>The use of horticultural machinery and equipment up to and including ride-on mowers<\/li>\n<li>The use of hand tools<\/li>\n<li>Emptying of litter and dog bins and their surroundings<\/li>\n<li>To undertake general gardening and environmental maintenance duties including, for instance, hedge cutting, pruning, grass cutting, litter picking, fly-tipped and other rubbish removal, using appropriate equipment as directed by a supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake some duties without direct supervision, such as emptying bins, litter picking and general gardening.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out improvement work including preparation and painting work to outdoor fixtures, erection of temporary fencing, signage etc and the installation of dog bins.<\/li>\n<li>Work at all times in accordance with established Safe Systems of Work, Health and Safety Guidelines, Policies and Procedures.<\/li>\n<li>To meet clients as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>To ensure that the issue of \u2018Waste Transfer Notes\u2019 and other documentation is undertaken and recorded in line with current legislation.<\/li>\n<li>To drive and clean council vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake training and development to improve skills and competences as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Achieve performance targets in line with Service Level Agreements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What skills do you Need?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have previous Grounds Maintenance Worker experience.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent People skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and senior managers.<\/li>\n<li>You will need to be physically fit and healthy, as you will be lifting heavy items.<\/li>\n<li>Must have a Valid Full UK Driving Licence<\/li>\n<li>Working Hours are 7.30am \u2013 17.00pm Monday to Thursday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Next Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are interested, please don&#8217;t hesitate and apply straight away.<\/p>\n<p><b>Application Deadline:<\/b> 15\/05\/2024<br \/>\n<b>Contract Type:<\/b> Temporary<br \/>\n<b>Submitted Applications:<\/b> 0<\/p>\n<p><a class='btn btn-block btn-primary theme-btn-primary' style='text-align: center; text-decoration: none; margin: auto 0;width: 100%;' href='https:\/\/www.reed.co.uk\/jobs\/grounds-maintenance-worker\/52475295' target='_blank' rel=\"noopener\"> Apply Now <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Employer: Reed Salary: \u00a311.44 per hour, inc benefits Date Added: 15\/04\/2024 We have a fantastic opportunity for Multiple&nbsp;Grounds Maintenance Workers for the&nbsp;&nbsp;City Council.
