Role Overview:
We are seeking an individual with exceptional leadership qualities. The Workshop Manager will oversee day-to-day operations in a busy workshop. This role requires effective coordination of resources, collaboration with internal and external contacts, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within specified timelines. The position demands strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude to excel within the often-challenging world of critical safety.

Remuneration: £Negotiable [DOE] + 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (3 or 4 days saved for Christmas shutdown), Company Sick Pay, Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme, Life Assurance, Pension and Eye Care Scheme
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Work Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Candidates must have a flexible approach to working hours to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage daily workshop operations and foster a positive, motivated work environment.
* Collaborate with the Workshop Team Leader to allocate and streamline workflow, ensuring adherence to SLA/KPI turnaround times.
* Schedule on-site visits and prepare engineers to complete visits.
* Maintain hire fleet at required levels, manage service stock levels, and address damages and write-offs.
* Ensure timely availability of necessary spares for service jobs.
* Collaborate with the line manager to implement and review systems and processes for continuous improvement.
* Oversee weekly stocktakes and the end-of-year audit.
* Investigate and address customer complaints and concerns from NCR reports.
* Maintain records of test equipment calibration, ensuring all equipment is up-to-date.
* Ensure staff receive appropriate training, including manufacturer training, and provide ongoing internal training/assessment.
* Collaborate with service centre channel partners to ensure workshop compliance.
* Adhere to Health & Safety Policies and Procedures, promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
