Job description:

Do you have a minimum of 10 years of proven leadership experience in a Technology Director or similar engineering role, specifically within the retail and/or hospitality sectors?

In this case, the Technology Director role that we have open would be the chance to further your career with us. You’ll be working for ClearCourse Retail and Hospitality. The Retail and Hospitality Division offers market vertical-specific software solutions for on-premises and online trading comprising EPOS, e-commerce, vouchering, and data validation solutions, integrated into our in-house payments’ platform, ClearAccept.

The Technology Director plays a pivotal role in steering the division’s technological vision and ensuring its alignment with our strategic objectives. This role is responsible for the comprehensive management of the division’s technology infrastructure, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

A typical day would be to name a few:

  • Oversee the development, refinement, and implementation of product roadmaps for all product lines, ensuring seamless integration with strategic objectives.
  • Architect and promote the adoption of unified technology frameworks across the division, driving efficiency and commonality where appropriate.
  • Design and implement standardized engineering processes across product lines, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Produce regular reports on technology initiatives and performance, including DORA metrics, facilitating transparent communication and alignment with group and divisional goals.
  • Act as a point of escalation for technology-related issues, driving resolution and continuous improvement.

To succeed, you need a minimum of 10 years of proven leadership experience in a Technology Director or similar engineering role, specifically within the retail and/or hospitality sectors. You’re proficient in Agile, Scrum methodologies, and DevOps practices. You’re able to develop and lead architecture and DevOps teams, driving architectural excellence and operational efficiency.

This is a hybrid role working 37.5 hours per week and you’ll work 2/3 days in the office and are commutable to Milton Keynes (or other ClearCourse hubs – Birmingham, Reading, London, Waterlooville).
