Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to assure the quality of products, throughout the product lifecycle and compliant with all contractual requirements. As a Supplier Technician you ensure that the customer voice is heard and understood by all suppliers and internal customers. You will assist in supporting and promoting excellence among all suppliers by implementing the methods and tools recommended by best practice in a responsive and proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- To support the Supplier Assessment process through conducting audits and assessments as directed.
- Ensure that Suppliers apply Safran requirements such as APQP by adapting and applying requirements and related tools (FMCE, risk assessments etc) as part of implementing Safran requirements.
- Ensure that Products and Services comply with quality requirements by helping suppliers understand the requirements, ensuring that products and practices comply with regulations, customer requirements and company standards promoting a culture of prevention and anticipation.
- Ensure proper management of non-compliance by helping to ensure that supplier system, product and process anomalies are addressed, with the necessary assurances that corrective actions are effective.

- Ensure Supplier improvement by: implementing KPI’s to measure Supplier quality performance in line with company rating system, support and promote excellence by implementing tools and methods recommended, promote quality culture
- Ensure that the customer’s voice is heard and understood by all suppliers
- Support customer inspection activities
- Assist as a team member in problem-solving activities for manufacturing product quality issues and measures (Using 8D Techniques)
- Support the quality activities within the project timeline
- Drive continuous improvement, by capitalizing on factual data and feedback and providing the necessary support for all company functions
- Undertake other reasonable duties, in line with business needs and objectives, which are consistent and commensurate with the overall purpose of the position
Essential Criteria
- Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
- Sound engineering / quality background, with experience of Quality inspection within a manufacturing / engineering industry.
