Strategic Distribution Manager
We have a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity for a Strategic Distribution Manager to join our UK Distribution team. Partnering with UK national brokers youâll be responsible for managing strategic relationships on a nationwide basis across multiple product lines, ensuring key business plan metrics are achieved to support the delivery of our wider UK business plan.
Your new role:
- Contribute to the design of the Distribution Proposition, including individual action plans and scorecards of selected key Tier 1 and Regional brokers, validated by SME Management, Regional Managers and Product Leaders, in line with the underwriting strategy and the UK business plan
- Monitor and report on progress of the Tier 1 broker plans (new business, product density and renewal retention), to ensure progress is on target, and to identify any underperformance on new business, renewal retention, & on-going actions
- Liaise with the Tier 1 and regional brokers to understand their strategies & needs and to accommodate their expectancies with the strategy of QBE. Follow up of the agreed plans.
- Liaise with SME Management, Regional Managers, Product leaders, Senior Underwriters, Operations and Claims Managers when appropriate to ensure Broker activity is managed in line with QBE strategy and broker distribution is co-ordinated.
- Liaise with the wider Distribution and Partnership Management team to ensure activity is aligned to wider QBE strategy and in line with agreed Global/UK objectives for Tier 1 Partners
- Where required act as relationship owner for key strategic partners agreeing and implementing key strategic objectives across the UK business. Working with relevant stakeholders across the business to deliver the agreed KSIs/plan
- Support delivery of any required Sales Training and support wider Global Market Management deliverables and the rollout of Salesforce
- Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, briefing papers and presentations for meetings/conferences, and present information when necessary on activity with brokers.
- Assist SME Management, Regional Managers and Product Leaders in maximising broker leads and co-ordinating where appropriate âpackage solutionsâ and the offering of multi class facilities.
- Production of internal & external broker communications including broker newsletters/market reports working in conjunction with Marketing Business Partner
- Develop the Broker panel in line with plan, ensuring retention and acquisition of desired business
- Monitor and review QBE partner broker business to ensure progress toward business plan objectives, identify any underperformance and solve any issues that may arise.
About you:
- Previous experience operating in a central, broking and or underwriting portfolio lensed role managing relationships strategically
- Good MI & Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use the analysis to identify clear deliverables to drive the business forwards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
- Good organisation skills including work planning and ability to prioritize for both self and the team
