We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Senior Scientist with experience in a range of biophysical techniques to join an innovative, venture-backed start-up company based at the company’s laboratories in Southampton, UK on a full-time permanent basis.
The Senior Scientist will become part of a multidisciplinary team that is discovering and developing innovative therapeutics for the treatment of cancer.
Responsibilities will include:
- Run molecular biophysical methods including using MST (Microscale thermophoresis), SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) and TSA (Thermal Shift Assays).
- Design and develop new biophysical assays.
- Conduct research into protein-ligand interaction to support drug discovery projects.
- Work collaboratively across different disciplines including chemistry and biology.
Requirements:
- PhD or Masters qualified in a Life Science subject such as Biophysics, Biochemistry or Biology and have experience in biophysical techniques such as SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance), MST (Microscale thermophoresis), and DSF (Differential Scanning Fluorimetry).
- Expertise in other biophysical techniques and fluorescence methods is advantageous.
- Proficiency in providing quantitative data on protein-ligand binding, including affinity, kinetics, and stoichiometry.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present complex data to diverse audiences.
- Ideally prior research experience within industry.
The post is available to start immediately, and the company will offer a competitive salary between £43,000 – £48,000 per annum, dependent on experience, along with great company benefits.
Relocation packages can be discussed for the right candidate.
