Our client is a leading property tech company based in the Southwest. As they undergo a full digital transformation, they are looking for a Senior Java Developer as they bring their development in house, building out the capabilities of their platform. This platform helps millions of families every year going through the toughest times.
Experience Required:
- Strong programming skills in OOP preferably Java and React
- Experience with open-source software development and community
Strong knowledge of the following:
- Software Delivery Life Cycle and Agile practices
- DevOps, CI/CD and API development
- Databases, distributed systems, and event driven architectures.
- Cloud services: Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS or Google Cloud
- Cloud infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Resource Manager templates/Bicep/Terraform
Responsibilities:
- Write high quality, secure, scalable and performant code.
- Balance delivering value for customers alongside maintainable code / system improvements, taking a pragmatic approach.
- Champion quality, coding standards and practices including tooling, pair programming and TDD/BDD
- Highlight and undertake continual service improvements to the existing SDLC and other development capabilities.
- Provide coaching & mentoring for the development team on how they might improve development functions and drive efficiency.
- Provide both high level and detailed estimates to enable accurate delivery plans and pipelines to be produced and maintained.
- Build solutions within estimate tolerances and in line with the published development lifecycle.
- Responsible for documenting all solutions, produced to agreed team standards.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and further technologies & techniques embraced by the development team.
- Provide support for existing applications and external customers as required.
- Occasional out of hours support, code releases etc.
