Absolute Recruit are supporting a London-based, PE-backed, multi-site business in their search for a Senior Group Accountant to join their Head Office Finance function. The business has a complex group structure, with multiple sites and revenues of c.£200m.
As Senior Group Accountant, you will work within the Group Finance function overseeing a team of 4 and will be responsible for the management accounts for the group function, including consolidation along with taxation, bank administration and cashflow management. In addition, the successful candidate will become a key business partner to various budget holders within the company.
Key responsibilities;
- Manage the Group Finance team (currently 4) with responsibility of the Group Finance monthly reporting process including preparation of various month-end reports and reconciliations
- Business partnering with Head of Departments, holding reviews to discuss departmental P&Ls with the budget holders
- Preparation of group consolidated reporting for senior management team including preparation of holding company accounting, group elimination entries and full consolidation.
- Accountability for accounting and budgeting for central group functions, responsibility for fixed asset accounting, capex monitoring and reporting
- Review of statutory accounts and coordination of the audit, liaising with external auditors
- Assist the Group Tax Manager with the group’s VAT and Corporation Tax.
Key requirements;
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified with a minimum of 3 years PQE
- Experience within a multi-site business
- Strong financial reporting skills across a large, complex group structure (preferable within a Group Head Office finance function) with strong capex reporting experience
- Prior team management experience is essential
- Advanced Excel skills, able to deal with large data sets
- Strong business partnering skills, someone who can confidently and effectively communicate with other budget holders
- Prior experience within a PE backed business would be beneficial but not essential
