We are looking for a Section Engineer to join our team based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Business Area: Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks – Major Projects
Contract: Full Time, Permanent, Hybrid working available – Subsistence packages available depending on location
What will your responsibilities be?
As a Section Engineer, you will be working within the Kier major projects team, supporting the refurbishment of Devonport Dockyards Royal Navy submarine maintenance programme.
Your day to day will include:
- Preparing ‘as-built’ drawings for distribution on site.
- Establishing and managing effective systems to record the progress of work and update the Project Quality Plan
- Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials used
- Accountable for ‘setting-out’ works constructed within allowable tolerances. Regularly checking the ‘setting-out’ points and benchmarks, checking that all ‘setting-out’ instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate
- Making sure the workforce follow ‘setting-out’ information

- You have Commercial and Contractual awareness, the ability to competently use your problem-solving skills
- You will have people management skills with the ability to liaise in a professional manner with clients and general public
- Proven project management, organisational and team leader skills
