The Graduate
As a Science Academic Coach, you will have an in-depth knowledge of scientific concepts and the confidence to use this knowledge to guide and support students. You will have a passion for the field of science and a desire to instil this same passion into secondary school students. It is not essential that you have previous experience of working in a school setting, however it would be advantageous in your role as a Science Academic Coach to have the pre-established skills necessary to building strong relationships and rapport with pupils.
The Role
Your day-to-day routine as a Science Academic Coach will involve working in close collaboration with students and staff to monitor and track pupil progress. It will be your responsibility to use your knowledge of individual students and their needs to adapt learning materials to suit them best. You will work alongside teaching staff to formulate lesson plans that you believe will be successful in fulfilling each student’s maximum potential.
