About the position

Our Sales Ledger/Finance Assistant role will be based in our administration head office in Ashton in Makerfield, near Wigan as part of a small finance team. The role is primarily covering all aspects of sales ledger however the successful applicant will also be involved in supporting the wider finance function.

We are keen to talk to people who have previous experience in working in a finance accounts environment who have a "can do" attitude and enjoy working as part of a team.

Hours of work Monday – Friday 8.00 -16.30 or alternatively 8.30 -17.00

What you will be doing

Categorisation of delivery notes from all depots

Posting delivery notes onto accounting system and generating sales invoices

Issuing invoices to customers via email/EDI portals/post daily

Allocation of customer payments

Generating of Sales Ledger Statements

Dealing with customer and branch queries

Filing and archiving of paperwork

Liaising with credit controller

Posting of petty cash expenditure for all depots

Answering telephone as required

Assisting Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects including support development of internal IT systems

Advantageous experience and skills

Confidence with accounting systems -ERP

Ability to work as part of a small closely knit team.

IT skills Microsoft Office – Excel (intermediate level) , Word, Outlook
