Are you and an experienced Sales Engineer striving to progress within an established company and build a career? We’re an engineering company based in High Wycombe working in the wastewater treatment industry and we need your chemical / process expertise to take ownership of our sales function. You’ll take the lead on new business generation and marketing strategies to work towards the very realistic progression to become our Sales Manager.

BASIC SALARY: Up to £50,000

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Our UK office is based in High Wycombe, but as this is a hybrid role, you’ll live a commutable distance to the office. You could be based in Reading, Slough, Watford, Oxford, Luton, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes

JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Business Development Manager – Wastewater Treatment, Water Treatment, Waste Treatment

We design, manufacture and commission wastewater treatment plants into petrochemical, food and beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical and other industrial markets. We constantly have projects on the go, but we need you to use your sales expertise and keep the pipeline populated by uncovering new business opportunities.

Recently, we’ve found that partnering with engineering companies has been a great way of ensuring that we get plenty of repeat business, so networking with engineering directors, technical directors and alike will be vital.

As we’re busy working on new projects, we need you to connect with our previous clients and offer unprecedented aftersales support. You’ll have to build and nurture these relationships in order to pick up repeat business for the company in future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Business Development Manager – Wastewater Treatment, Water Treatment, Waste Treatment

As our Sales Engineer you’ll also:
· Control your sales pipeline – managing lead times of 2 months to 2 years and orders which can range from £20,000 for a small project, £300,000 – £1million as our average order value and £4million as our largest sale
· Working with multiple departments to ensure that the sales process is managed efficiently and the customer relationship is maintained
· Attend exhibitions and trade shows to keep up to date with the latest industry trends and promote the company
· Take part in our marketing campaigns and capitalise on leads and enquiries generated from these campaigns

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Business Development Manager – Wastewater Treatment, Water Treatment, Waste Treatment

You’ll have an understanding of wastewater treatment processes, but this isn’t essential as you’ll be a determined and open-minded individual who’s willing to learn all about the wastewater treatment plants.

You’re going to be a forward-thinking individual with a strong focus on business generation as 75% of our turnover is new business. You’ll be determined to maximise your commission incentive for self-reward as much as business growth.

You’ll also:
· Have a chemical based degree or a demonstrable background / knowledge of chemicals, be an Environmental Engineer or a Civil Engineer in wastewater treatment
· Be a problem solver and ask the right questions to ensure we get the results our customers need
· Have the ability to put together marketing campaigns to promote our business
· Demonstrate a proven track record of selling to engineering directors, technical directors, or alike in petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, industrial markets

Our UK business is part of a wider international group providing industrial water, wastewater and waste treatment solutions as well as product recovery systems for over 40 years. We offer a tailored solution package based on specific wastewater treatment needs. We operate within the petrochemical, energy, food & beverages, dairy, chemical, pharmaceutical sectors and more. We’ve recently focused our effort on the development of biogas digestate treatment and recovery solutions and have taken on new projects within lithium recovery and PET bottle recycling wastewater treatment. Therefore we’re always open to new markets and sustainable development.

As a group, we have a proven track record of promoting from within wherever possible. We’re actively hiring sales professional from with chemical / environmental based experience to advance within the company and take on additional responsibilities. The promotion to Sales Manager will be on the table for the right candidate.
