The organisation is looking to hire a dynamic and experienced Risk Manager to join them on a permanent basis, working within the wider finance team of over 50 staff. The risk manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of all financial risks related insurance, business continuity, due diligence, and counter fraud and financial crime.
Your new role
Within this varied role you will be responsible for a range of duties which help ensure effective governance of the organisation. These duties will cover:
- Insurance Management: Providing oversight of the organisation’s insurance policies
- Business Continuity Planning: Developing and maintaining a comprehensive business continuity plan
- Due Diligence: Conducting thorough due diligence assessments for potential partnerships, collaborations, and significant financial decisions
- Counter Fraud & Risk Mitigation: Developing and implementing polices (prevention of fraud & financial crime) and ensuring any instances of such are managed compliantly and effectively
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with internal policies and external requirements in relation to financial and operational risks
- Data Analysis & Monitoring: Effective analysis of financial and operational data
Along with these duties, you will also play a pivotal role in influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the risk plan and governance of the organisation continues to develop and add value.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will hold a relevant accountancy qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA and you may well also hold a relevant risk qualification. In addition, you will have 5 years + experience in risk management and a strong understanding of insurance principles, business continuity planning, due diligence processes, and fraud prevention techniques. You will also have excellent analytical and communication skills. An understanding of the education sector would also be advantageous.
