I am seeking a Resilience Officer to join a dynamic team at a local authority.

Responsibilities:
- Continuity Planning: Collaborate with other officers to develop robust continuity plans that ensure seamless operations during crises.
- Resilience: Strengthen our community’s resilience by implementing effective emergency response strategies.
- Emergency Plans and Humanitarian Support: Craft comprehensive emergency plans and provide essential humanitarian aid during critical situations.
- People-centred Approach: Prioritise the well-being of our community members in all planning efforts.
- Procedural Excellence: Ensure adherence to established procedures and maintain control over emergency responses.
- Plan Validation: Regularly validate and test emergency plans to enhance their effectiveness.
- Plan Review and Update: Keep plans up-to-date by incorporating lessons learned from real-world incidents.
- National Guidance: Stay informed about national best practices and incorporate them into our emergency planning processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST) to optimise responses to things like floods etc.
- Continuity Plans: Prepare, maintain and review Emergency and Business Continuity Plans in line with appropriate risk assessment and provide incident management support when needed
To be successful in this role you will have the below skills/experience:
- Be a team player and be able to collaborate with other members of your team and the wider network
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be confident using various IT packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Have very strong organisation skills and be an excellent planner
- Possess the ability to absorb information and translate in to logical data for plans etc
- Have some project management skills and experience (Highly desirable)
- Be knowledgeable about risk management
- Some knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, Integrated Emergency Management and supporting legislation
- Excellent analysis and reporting skills
An attractive hourly rate of £21.40 (PAYE) or £26.64 (Umbrella) is on offer and the hours of work are full time with some flexibility offered (37 per week).
The location will be split over Sheffield city centre and some requirement to work out of Rotherham centre too. Hybrid working is offered so around half the week can be worked from home.
