My Stellar client has strong investment in research and development and their culture is of continuous improvement. We are currently seeking a Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Europe and Asia

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following

  • Recognizing and anticipating global product regulatory trends, emerging issues and customer expectations to ensure effective management of My Clients portfolio, and for the timely management of regulatory requirements for EAA jurisdiction chemical notification and registration processes. Serve as the program manager for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals Regulation (REACH). Work with commercial and operational leadership to ensure regulatory changes and trends are strategically integrated and communicated
  • (R&T), operational and commercial teams to ensure information is disseminated.
  • Working collaboratively with global Product Stewardship counterparts, commercial leadership, and operations to ensure chemical notification, registration, and import/export requirements are harmonised across Hexcel’s global business. In addition, ensure the transit of raw materials and products across jurisdiction and borders does not result in business disruption.
  • Facilitate and manage chemical, physical, toxicological and ecotoxicological studies for fulfilment of regulatory, NGO, and customer requirements.
  • Partner with EAA business groups to maintain critical Product Safety information in the Company’s ERP system (Dynamics AX) and intranet site. 
  • Manage the obsolescence database for raw materials used in My Clients products that are manufactured and sold within the EAA and have global oversight of chemical substitution programs. Monitor changes in raw materials, and associated hazards and chemical properties; identify the impact of changes on products and processes; and communicate changes to relevant groups. Advise R&T, Sourcing and Operations groups on the hazards and authorization of new raw materials.
  • Establish and maintain systems and processes to manage Product Stewardship requirements specified in customer contractual agreements.
  • Proactively monitor legislation and product stewardship trends, and identify and communicate changes that could have short or long-term impact on product range and business continuity throughout the EAA.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree (Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Health and Safety or equivalent), with experience in a product regulatory affairs/stewardship.
  • A post graduate degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Studies or Toxicology is preferred.
  • Proficient expert of Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals Regulation.
  • Good working knowledge of toxicology and ecotoxicology.
  • A preference to hold qualifications to fulfil certification for Transport of Hazardous Goods Regulations for air, sea, and road (ADR).
  • Working knowledge of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong organisation skills, ability to design and deploy detailed plans, be a confident communicator and an experienced trainer and coach.
  • Able to communicate and influence effectively including experience of presenting and justifying regulatory recommendations to stakeholders
