Responsibilities:
- As a social worker within the safeguarding team you will be joining a dynamic and team, where you will be assessing and supporting families through some of the most complex times of their lives.
- You will be expected to understand risk and be able to work with a variety of agencies in order to work together to safeguard and reduce the risks around children at times of need.
- As a safeguarding social worker you will have a mixture of casework relating to children in need and child protection
- You will also have to undertake court work, supported by your practice development manager and team manager as required
To be considered for the Social Worker role you ideally will have:
- 1-3 years’ experience of working within a similar social work setting
- Registered with Social Work England
- Be able to manage full and complex caseloads
- Be child focused and able to implement relationship-based and systemic-based practice
- Have a good knowledge of the issues and risks faced by children in care and the procedures to manage these
- All social workers must be resident in Jersey on a full-time basis ( permanent roles are not for residents to travel to and from Jersey at weekends)
