AESC UK are recruiting for experienced Project Engineers to be part of one of the North East’s highest profile manufacturing plants as they are expanding their operations at their battery manufacturing plant in Sunderland.

This is a unique and rare opportunity to join one of the most exciting and advanced industrial developments in many years where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle sector.

Overall Purpose:

  • You will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
  • Inward and outward facing role providing a direct link between customers and project teams; understanding and communicating customer requirements for product and project delivery.

Key Duties:

  • Working as part of the project management and industrial strategy team, to deliver current and future projects.
  • Responsible for coordinating successful delivery of allocated projects, from customer engagement all the way through to SOP.
  • The successful candidates will have a broad-based experience in manufacturing and be able to demonstrate proven skills in the application of project coordination and management.
  • Ensure accountability and ownership is understood throughout all functions.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor progress of the assigned projects.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable procedures, standards and working practices (e.g. APQP, IATF, GR etc…)
  • Review deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
  • Lead internal and external review meetings to monitor project progress across all functions to ensure critical path and risk items are identified, understood and managed.

Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field of study.
  • Project management / project engineering / project planning experience.
  • Ideally have experience Working with Tier 1 / Automotive Customers.
  • Experience in change management and adapting to reactive and proactive change scenarios.
  • Ability to lead and aide decision making throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proven experience working cross functionally across multiple departments.
  • Proven experience working with suppliers, customers and project stakeholders.
