SF Recruitment are looking for a Project Buyer for our Swadlincote based client. This is an initial 12 month based contract role. The salary for this role is up to £45,000.
Suitable candidates will come from a Manufacturing background with experience sourcing to category plans. You will be required to support global category management through driving overall purchasing performance and supporting new projects. Main Duties: – Manage and develop a sustainable regional supplier base that supports global strategies – Manage and lead global negotiations for suppliers within local categories and selected local suppliers for Global Categories. – Secure annual productivity improvements with suppliers pursuing cost reduction opportunities in alignment with the Category strategy – Select suppliers categories under responsibility and actively propose alternative suppliers – Monitor local/regional and global supply markets, interpret market intelligence and develop supplier profiles for key suppliers. – Identify and manage implementation of category savings projects globally and regionally to optimize total cost of ownership for category. – Support implementation and contribute to the development of processes, systems and tools globally and locally. – Establish relationships with other functions to ensure understanding and support of strategic sourcing perspective to key processes. – Continuously update and manage sourcing and savings projects information – Actively propose alternatives to current setups which could lead to improved performance, quality or decreased cost. – Monitor suppliers performance
You will need to have previous Purchasing experience and are used to working in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects. The client is looking for someone who is excellent at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Although this is an initial 12 month contract this could lead to other opportunities.
