Product Manager – The Americas – Tour Operator 1 Year Contract
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Product Manager to contribute to the creation of extraordinary global adventures. As a Product Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing unique itineraries, ensuring they align with safety guidelines, and consistently exceed customer expectations.
Product Manager – What will I be doing?
- Develop worldwide adventure itineraries, including cultural experiences, treks, cycle rides, and family holidays.
- Generate and see through ideas for exceptional small group adventures.
- Manage a portfolio of tours for The Americas, becoming the go-to expert for these regions.
- Regularly communicate with overseas suppliers for various purposes, such as on-ground delivery, itinerary enhancements, and obtaining discounts.
- Engage in tasks such as negotiating rates, setting dates/capacity, conducting competitor analysis, onboarding new partners, and reviewing customer feedback.
- Train the wider team on the portfolio of trips and occasionally present at events.
- Respond to pre-travel inquiries and address customer experiences on recent trips.
- Handle unexpected situations, including on-tour issues or crisis management.
Product Manager – What experience do I need?
- It is essential that you have worked in the Product Department for a tour operator, and you must have knowledge of the small group adventure market.
- Passion for sustainable travel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiator with a focus on getting things done.
- Knowledge of the The Americas is desirable
Product Manager – What else do I need to know?
This is a fixed term one year contract. Our client would prefer someone to work in a hybrid capacity with 2 days a week in their office in Hampshire, but they will consider a remote contract if you could get to the office once a month. There will be some overseas travel. They are open to discussion on working hours – potentially for the role to be 0.8 of a week or full time. 25 days holiday initially, rising to 30 after 5 years. Option to ‘buy’ additional holiday leave. Pension scheme and life assurance. Bonus eligibility based on company performance. 50% holiday discount scheme on our client’s range of exceptional trips.
