Job Description

As a result of our continued expansion and growth as market leaders in our sector we are looking to recruit a pre-press co-ordinator as part of our production team.

You will be working closely with the operations team in order to ensure pre-production checklist are carried out with the overall objective to minimise downtime by ensuring pre-flight checklists are done for individual jobs prior to them getting to the production lines.

As pre-press co-ordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring all operational checklists are completed and effective co-ordination of the pre-press team, including pre-press tasks are effectively completed with corresponding checklists and where needed carrying out the tasks yourself.

The role has career progression for the right candidate to become a senior member of the operations team and be part of the success of the business as we continue with our growth plans.

The role is best suited to an individual who is methodical and has an awareness of compliance and verification procedures. Someone who understands how to co-ordinate a team but also not afraid to do the tasks themselves if required. In order to ensure downtime minimised for the production lines.

The role is based on a 5 day working week (8:30 – 17:00)

Responsibilities

  • To ensure pre-flight checklists completed for all pre-press tasks.
  • To personally carry out pre-press duties where needed to ensure all jobs have required pre-press prior to production.
  • Managing and co-ordinating the pre-press team in order to ensure human resource is managed effectively, including ensuring effective hand over notes across shifts. (Factory is 24/7 operation).
  • Meet with the operations team at key meetings to establish that all pre-flight checklists have been completed and verify jobs are ready to move to production.
  • Pre-press tasks for all jobs include:

o Raw material available (In co-ordination with our warehouse department).

o Ink mixed and/ or validated.

o Plate and blankets mounted and validated.

o Specifications validated (in co-ordination with our quality department).

o Other ancillary tasks where needed.

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety objectives.
  • Maintain a manufacturing environment to the standard of various governing bodies (BRCetc).

Candidate requirements

  • Ability to manage a team of people and to set clear tasks across multiple shifts.
  • Willingness to continue with ongoing training.

  • A high-quality mindset with over exaggeration on ensuring preflight checklists are completed effectively,
  • Methodical approach to new tasks.
  • Capacity to follow and to set written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Flexible approach to covering holidays and other shifts on short notice.
  • Ability to complete administration accurately including use of good numeracy skills.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

Ideally you will also have the following experience:

  • Working in a manufacturing environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Highly organised and ability to follow a checklist.
  • Experience in using basic Microsoft Excel.

Location:Cheriton, Folkestone, Kent

Hours: Monday – Friday (9am-5:30pm) (half hour lunch break)

Salary: From £30,000 per year depending on experience.

Contract type: Full-Time / Permanent
