Our client is a leading global logistics firm headquartered in Bristol is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. Role Overview: As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and security of our clients network infrastructure. Working within our dedicated IT team, you will focus on Cisco technologies and network design, contributing to the seamless operation of our global logistics network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions using Cisco technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into network design specifications.
- Perform network troubleshooting and issue resolution to ensure uninterrupted network operations.
- Conduct regular network performance monitoring and capacity planning activities.
- Implement network security measures and protocols to safeguard data and infrastructure integrity.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative network solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably within a logistics or related industry.
- Strong expertise in Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in network design principles and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and other networking protocols.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure).
