Management Accountant – Healthcare (20% Employer Pension, Hybrid)

Tailored Recruiter is proud to once again partner exclusively with a fast-growth, healthcare organisation based in Redhill, Surrey, which has quadrupled its turnover in the last 4 years to just under £20 million – with a workforce of 200. Due in part to growing demand for healthcare services during and post-pandemic and equally strong commercial future-proofing, they are well-positioned to continue this growth into 2024 / 2025 and as a result, are looking to grow the small yet tightly-knit finance team with the addition of a commercially focused Management Accountant in their Redhill offices in Surrey; a new role, assisting the Finance Director with forecasting, budgeting, with a focus on Partnerships & GP accounts. This role will consider part-qualified CIMA / ACCA or qualified by experience equally – with commercial skills and strong management accountant experience the key to securing the role, ideally with Partnerships accounting experience, though key experience needed will be forecasting, budgeting, production of monthly management accounts, so this role is geared more towards latter-stage CIMA / ACCA studiers for those seeking a fast-paced, challenging role in a demonstrably growing organisation.

This role is available on a hybrid basis.

Working in a team of 9, the core responsibilities of this new role include, but not limited to;

  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of budget and forecast reports to the Finance Director – reporting on variances and profitability of multiple long and short-term projects
  • Provide monthly financial analysis of operational profitability
  • Production of monthly management accounts including commentary
  • Assist with production of the P&L
  • Work closely with teams to manage their budgets, forecast and project-end positions
  • Provide Partnership accounting service to GP services
  • Credit control as and when required
  • Cash-flow management
  • Support the external audit process
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Establish and foster business critical relationships with both internal departments and member organisations
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required by Finance Director

Candidate Requirements;

  • Candidates will be part-qualified CIMA / ACCA or qualified-by-experience, though applicants must possess strong management accounting experience and be a genuinely strong communicator – ideally with some exposure to Partnerships accounting, though this is desired and not mandatory
  • healthcare sector experience as a fully-fledged Management Accountant advantageous (forecasting, budgeting, providing written commentary) – though given the continued growth of the business candidates with a more commercial background with both technical and soft skills preferred
  • Candidates with a background of having worked for both larger commercial entities and smaller SME’s are ideal, along with experience of doing Partnerships accounting, to assist with the business’ client portfolio in providing accounting support to each of their members including GP surgeries
  • Strong commercial and communication / influencing skills required to interpret finance data into commercial understanding when presenting to a largely non-finance Board
  • Rather than a smokescreen, the successful candidate will encompass and reflect company values – honesty, integrity – and to deliver
  • A hands-on approach to working in small finance team, with humility and desire to work well as a team
  • Xero systems experience desired, though also not necessary
