Main duties
As Legal Counsel, you will support the local teams across Europe with their legal and compliance matters, with a strong focus on commercial contracts and litigation.
Main tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Partner with cross-functional legal and business teams including Real Estate, Procurement (direct/indirect), Regulatory affairs, CSR, HR and corporate matters.
Provide clear, practical advice to senior business leaders and legal department members on a variety of legal matters.
Reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.
Developing and delivering legal training to associates.
Manage and liaise with external counsel on all litigation (including HR and civil).
Shared support for Human Resources on employment law-related issues.
Ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines
Requirements:
Generally speaking, you have proven experience with dynamic, international businesses and are highly motivated to be a hands-on counsel in terms of practice and matter handling, take responsibility and make a difference for the Legal Team and the Selecta Group.
You have a lot of experience in negotiating and drafting sales and procurement contracts.
You know Corporate Law and can handle matters in relation to corporate governance of the group and corporate housekeeping.
You assist Human Resources in employment related matters in your region and the Group Human Resources function.
You are familiar with privacy regulations and understand how to implement and maintain compliance to GDPR.
You research and implement changes based on new legal requirements.
Supporting supply chain and procurement activities and related contracting and global centralised Procurement
Supports development of policies and procedures that drive corporate governance
You are used to managing the selection of and the daily relationship with external counsels in a cost-effective manner.
You have an excellent command of French and are fluent in English. Other European languages (especially German) are a plus.
Professional competence
You are a French qualified attorney with at last 6 years’ experience gained as in-house counsel in an international organization or in a law firm.
