Hays Education are currently looking for a teaching assistant who can work within the Key Stage 1 setting in a primary school situated in North Birmingham. Ward End Primary School is a larger than average, Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school. Teachers have high expectations for the behaviour of pupils, pupils respond accordingly. They are calm, polite and helpful in and around the school.
Your new role
Ward End Primary School are looking for a teaching assistant to work in Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2). You will work closely alongside the class teacher and support the children. You will work closely alongside the class teacher and support the children in the class and taking small groups of children out of the classroom. The role is full-time, five days per week.
This role is to commence immediately.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need to hold a Level 3 teaching qualification and recent experience. Having an in depth understanding and knowledge of the National Curriculum and good behaviour management skills is an essential. You must be able to challenge and encourage the pupils to achieve their best and be a caring individual who is prepared to go the extra mile.
In addition to this, we will require two satisfactory references.
