Junior Test Analyst Bristol hybrid working options £22,000 – £29,000 Selenium C# SQL Automation Manual
A leading web application development firm in Bristol are looking to bolster their QA team through hiring a Junior QA Engineer. The QA team’s main responsibility is to provide functional testing services to the product development teams. This is primarily achieved by analysing product requirements, identifying test cases, and the writing of automated tests in C# using Selenium WebDriver, supplemented by some manual and exploratory testing.
A typical week might involve:
- Meeting with QA Team colleagues to discuss progress, and planned work for the week ahead
- Analysing product requirements, identifying test cases, and adding them to a test plan
- Liaising with the development teams and Business Managers regarding product functionality and defect discovery
- Writing automated functional tests in C# and Selenium
- Running regression test suites and investigating any test failures
- Documenting any bugs discovered and tracking their resolution
- Manual running of test cases
- Performing exploratory/destructive testing
- Compiling test reports
- Performing reviews of your peers’ code in line with documented QA Team standards
- Contributing to the development of automation tools and scripts
Essential attributes:
- An analytical, problemsolving mindset
- A passion for breaking things
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Exposure to an Object Oriented Programming language (ideally C#)
Desirable
- Awareness of the software development lifecycle and testing in an agile context
- Experience with databases (specifically SQL Server) and knowledge of SQL
- Exposure to web browser automation (Selenium)
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell)
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level qualification
Potential candidate profiles
- Existing Junior QA Engineer with experience writing automated tests
- Existing (Junior) manual QA tester looking to move into test automation (with demonstrable programming experience)
- Graduate with degree in a numerate subject (with demonstrable programming experience)
You’ll spend the first couple of weeks in the office onboarding and familiarising yourself with the business and test environment. From there you’ll have the opportunity to work from home for 3/4 days per week.
Progression opportunities are endless as a Junior Automation Test Analyst. You’ll be joining in a juniorcapacity but with the opportunity to move into senior, leadership and management roles in the future with the help and support of the senior leadership team. There will also be the opportunity to cross train into software development, product management, or business analysis
