Job Title: Japanese Language Lead

Are you a fluent/native Japanese speaker based in the UK? Have you got experience in translation, proofreading and/or content writing? We are looking for a candidate with 3+ experience in English-to-Japanese translation and proofreading, particularly within the travel industry.
Responsibilities:
As the Japanese Language Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest language quality. You will guarantee that all products and marketing materials are localized to meet native standards, providing an authentic user experience tailored to the Japanese market.
– Proofread all Japanese translations to ensure alignment with the company’s language standards
– Conduct QA in a web-based environment.
– Provide language input to enhance the Japanese user experience.
– Manage dynamic strings and devise innovative solutions for translation challenges.
– Undertake additional Japanese language tasks as required
Ideal Candidate:
– Native/Fluent Japanese linguist
– Minimum 3 years of translation and proofreading experience (English to Japanese)
– Proficient in written and verbal English
– Familiarity with Windows and Office 2010, particularly Excel, and web browsers
– Strong understanding of Japanese geography; knowledge of Japanese travel trends preferred
– Experience in web localization and copywriting advantageous

This role is remote/home-based within the UK, with occasional travel to their office in London. It will be 20 hours per week during business hours.
