Our client is a successful and growing manufacturing company selling products internationally. They are currently seeking a new IT Systems Manager to help enable their growth through better use of existing technology, new technology and 3rd party vendors and working across the business to optimise operational processes and how they are supported by systems (end to end).
Core systems that you will look after include their ERP, 365 Products, SQL Server, CRM and Networking is outsourced but you will look at all departments and see how technology can assist them.
With regards to ERP, they are using the full suite of modules for manufacturing, sales, bill of materials, purchase orders and so on. Big changes or upgrades are not required with the system, but operating processes need to be improved across the business and the system needs to be tweaked to manage end to end processes better. This will be SQL Server work (SQL Queries, stored procedures to make changes). It is a vanilla product, and they want it to manage more of their business so enabling that too.
Where there are any gaps with the ERP, other tools and systems are used to plug such as SharePoint for Document Management and Power BI for reporting. These systems will be under your remit.
The role is a mixture of making existing systems more efficient to support business growth and to identity improved processes across the business and then technology to enable them, working with departments such as marketing to track leads and their sales pipeline better for business opportunities.
You will be the main Technology person with 1 other person underneath you. One of your first tasks will be to identify the existing employees’ strengths and help define a new role for them. In addition to this you will pick up outsourced arrangements with Networking and other areas.
Skills Required:
- Good SQL Server including Stored Procedures and SQL for querying databases. (don’t need to be Developer or DBA level).
- Technical support skills across business systems and infrastructure environments
- Support, maintain and improved ERP systems.
- 365 including familiarity with SharePoint and ideally Power BI but don’t need to be deep in either
- Strong customer engagement skills to work across the business to capture requirements for business change to then enable systems to support this change. But also, to work with external partners including resellers
- 3rd Party outsourced vendor management capability.
- Project Management skills
- Worked in a manufacturing and/or product environment to understand how technology supports and enables end-to-end processes.

- 4 Days in the North Bristol office, 1 day from home and more on occasion
