The Role: As the Sales Office Manager, you will oversee both internal and external sales teams, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and maximizing revenue. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting and agreeing on sales targets in consultation with your Branch Manager.
- Proactively expanding the customer base through effective selling techniques.
- Meeting targets set and agreed upon with the Branch Manager.
- Engaging with customers on a day-to-day basis via telephone, email, etc.
- Conducting regular sales meetings with internal and external sales partners.
- Managing stock control to meet agreed stock turn targets.
- Balancing service levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs.
- Maintaining customer records and company files securely and responsibly.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations within the sales and warehouse environment.
- Fulfilling other sales-related duties as required.
- Participating in the recruitment of internal sales staff alongside the Branch Manager.
- Handling appraisals, disciplinaries, and grievance procedures.
- Providing coaching and leadership to motivate the sales force.
The Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and self-motivated sales professional with supervisory or management experience, or the readiness to step into such a role. Key qualifications include:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with commercial acumen.
- Focus, open-mindedness, and confident communication abilities.
- Natural rapport-building skills and relationship development capabilities.
- Experience in product/commodity sales with knowledge of negotiating margins.
- Customer-focused mindset with proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and IT skills.
- A strong work ethic and a track record of success in previous roles.
Previous or current positions may include Sales Manager, Sales Team Leader, Internal Sales Manager, Telesales Manager, or similar roles.
