We Do Group are delighted to be supporting a group of Leisure Centres in London, recruiting a Finance & Performance Manager to take ownership for the reporting (P&L and balance sheet) and partner with the Operations teams to drive performance, identifying risks and opportunities through their numbers.
Reporting into the Head of Finance for the group of companies, the Finance & Performance Manager will have a Management Accountant producing month end, and a group shared service centre for all transactional duties.
This is a highly commercial role that allows you to focus day to day as a true finance business partner, while retaining ownership of the division from a finance perspective.
Hybrid working: 1 day in the office, 4 days from home
Length of assignment: asap until end of March 2024
Rate: £500 p/d (inside IR35)
The Role
General
- Take ownership for the divisional P&L and balance sheet reporting including month forecasting and business review of
- Take ownership for the divisional annual budget and business planning process
- Collate wider performer information and present in a way that aids in structured informed decision making by all stakeholders
- Form close working relationships with the wider Group Finance team, operational business managers and key personnel within partner organisations, such as external AP and payroll provider(s) and shareholder’s finance teams
Reporting
- Review the work of Management Accountant, including monthly P&L and balance sheet reporting, helping develop them and the department
- Assist and sign off on the Management Accounts in the written commentary to support understanding of variances between actual P&L performance and the budget and forecast, monthly
- Business partner with operational directors, reviewing monthly performance to rationalise future month’s forecast and highlight potential risks and/or opportunities to the forecast and how the performance data is presenting trends
Operational Support
- Take ownership for the Financial Performance Review process, being proactive in arranging 1 to 1 sessions with operational department managers to help them understand the financial performance and where improvements can be made
- Suggest, develop and deliver improvements to existing, and create new operational financial reporting to improve the financial performance and understanding of the business
- Be the single point of contact for the assigned subsidiary in all finance related enquires, taking ownership to support the operational teams
Your Profile
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA / CA)
- Be a commercially astute, articulate, team player with the ability to communicate confidently with junior and senior finance and operational personnel alike
- Strong IT skills (Excel pivot tables essential) and a can do attitude to learning new systems
- Experience within a leisure business
