Job Title: Housing Advice Worker

Reporting to: Centre Team Manager
Role: Responsible for Housing Advice and Rough Sleepers Drop-In

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:

  1. Housing Advice and Guidance:
  • Provide up-to-date, comprehensive housing advice and guidance to low-to-high support service users.
  • Direct service users to specialist services, ensuring access to stable accommodation.
  • Deliver impartial and confidential information on various topics, including housing and employment.
  • Utilise internal and external resources to signpost service users to relevant agencies for hostel vacancies and housing rights.
  • Advise service users on their housing rights and facilitate referrals to secure stable accommodation.
  1. Client Support and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain updated client record files with thorough contact, support, and risk information.
  • Handle and record incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Stay well-informed about homelessness issues, offering informed advice to individuals in person or over the phone.
  • Uphold a high standard of customer service, ensuring communal areas are clean, relevant, and welcoming.
  1. Holistic Support for Rough Sleeping Women:
  • Set up and manage the drop-in space, including preparing breakfast, stocking toiletries, and maintaining necessary supplies.
  • Cultivate an atmosphere of welcome and respect in a Psychologically Informed Environment.
  • Listen to service user’s requests and effectively signpost them to the appropriate services.
  • Monitor and supervise the reception area to ensure adherence to acceptable behaviour policies, maintaining a safe environment.
