My client is a government body based in Manchester. Due to a new ALB being set up they are recruiting this role on a 2 year fixed term contract basis initially, with the likelihood that this will be made permanent following the contract period. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has led finance functions to go in at the start and build the finance function from the ground up.
As a Head of Finance you will be the number one in finance for the ALB and will build the function as you see fit. This will setting a structure and recruiting staff members in the positions outlined, dealing with all aspects of financial controls, planning and analysis, as well as management of the budgeting and forecasting to ensure budgets are aligned to. You will also implement finance systems and processes to ensure the department is operating as efficiently as possible. You will business partner with various key stakeholders across the business from the central finance team to non-finance department leaders.
This role will suit a qualified finance professional who has led finance functions and who has extensive experience with financial controls, planning and analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting. Previous experience working in a government body would be highly advantageous to your application, but any public sector and not for profit background will add value. Food communication skills are essential in order to business partner with various levels of staff across the business effectively.
The salary is paying up to £70,000 dependant on experience and qualifications with a very attractive benefits package that includes hybrid working, a generous holiday entitlement and fantastic pension scheme.
