Role Description
As the Head of Client Accounting, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and oversight for all client accounting operations. Your responsibilities will include coordinating, reviewing, and supporting new business initiatives and client presentations with meticulous attention to detail.
You’ll lead efforts to manage and enhance financial controls and systems within the client accounting finance department, ensuring the integrity of the month-end process and comprehensive oversight of general client accounting activities. Your role will also involve overseeing audits across the Operations Company structure within stipulated timelines, necessitating effective collaboration with auditors and clients.
Paramount to your role is the meticulous review of financial statements and adherence to legal and company accounting guidelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every step.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee & support the co-ordination and review of all client accounting and client presentation packs.
- Build, run and maintain financial models and lead on financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Manage the development of financial controls and systems within the client finance department.
- Complete the month end process and oversee all general client accounting activity.
- Work with direct report to drive the efficiency and accuracy of the month end reporting cycle, ensuring that the system and processes are used to their full potential to deliver quality management reporting.
- Responsible for ensuring that all companies within the structure which require audit have one completed in the required timescale, liaising with auditors and clients.
- Review submissions for quarterly SLT packs.
- Oversee the execution of period-end accounting entries by posting manual journal entries and processing recharges.
- Review of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Finance qualification.
- Relevant accounting experience in a business or finance environment.
- Management experience.
- Research & analytical skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing a continuous improvement culture and having an impact on the way things are done.
- Resilience and adaptability, as well as a great cultural diversity awareness.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the purpose-built student accommodation or Built to Rent industry.
- Working on client accounting.
- Comprehensive experience working with Xero.
