Reporting to the Interim Head of UK Transfer Agency, the Head of Anti-Financial Crime & Technical (UK Transfer Agency) will be directly responsible for supporting all Anti-Financial Crime within the function, as well as providing technical support and industry participation.
The role will comprise of the following:
- The Head of Anti-Financial Crime & Technical ensures robust compliance with applicable regulation and risk appetite through day to day management of oversight of E2E systems, processes and controls. This includes investor due diligence, PEP/Sanctions/Adverse Media screening, PEP risk management, periodic reviews, transaction monitoring and fraud risk management.
- Direct line management responsibilities for a team of individuals based out of the UK, and oversees activities performed in offshore centres of excellence in Ireland and India, ensuring they meet service levels at all times
- Represents UK Transfer Agency at relevant industry forums, as well as monitoring industry and regulatory changes. Ensures all relevant changes are implemented across all areas of UK Transfer Agency
- Overall accountability for the performance management and career development programs for the Anti-Financial Crime Function.
This is a varied and challenging role requiring strong communication, client and industry engagement skills alongside the ability to drive accountability.
Major Duties include:
- Participates in cross-jurisdiction and cross-functional initiatives to maintain consistency and best practice across EMEA Transfer Agency
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients, vendors, relevant regulatory bodies and relevant third parties
- Participates in client meetings to consult on effective ways to meet client needs or appropriate methods to be used for resolution of any issues.
- Assess risk appetite across the client base, establishing risk vs impact and benefits and ensuring the product offering is fit for purpose.
- Encourages an environment of employee participation, teamwork and open communication where adherence with compliance is an intrinsic part of the culture and innovation part of the culture.
- Assumes accountability for improving efficiency, effectiveness and productivity across UK Transfer Agency AML Servicing
- Seasoned leader with extensive business experience, and broad functional expertise.
Knowledge/Skills
- An extensive knowledge of the Financial Industry & AML Regulatory Environment
- Strong Industry presence with an external network.
- Strong risk background / management of an operational team.
- Knowledge of operational resiliency / outsourcing or offshoring.
- Proven track record of implementing large scale change.

- Prior experience of working in Operational Teams where there is a third party / offshore/ outsource relationship.
- Experience of Operational Management and Change Implementation.
- Industry knowledge to be able to challenge credibly.
- Management of teams local and virtual.
