A challenging, fast paced, interesting role within the Financial Delivery team working to support the Finance and Actuarial departments deliver results to pre-agreed timelines for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will give the successful applicant a wide exposure to many aspects of an operational role within Finance.
Your new role
-
Support the creation and tracking of Finance, Actuarial and Solvency plans
-
Support the month end processes from start to finish optimising your holistic view to ensure any risks to delivery are mitigated and overcome within your and the teams control

Play an active role in daily status calls, updates and Stakeholder management

Play an active role in feedback sessions and take appropriate actions to progress the feedback for the benefit of the department

Support the development of team’s business plan in order to maximize productivity and performance
-
Handle escalations and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner and develop mitigation activities to prevent re-occurrence

Identify & be confident in suggesting new approaches and ideas to benefit the department

Manage the under/overs process quarterly

Ensure all identified risks are raised through the appropriate channels

Support the co-ordination of the Finance & Actuarial audits working closely with the external auditors

Support the definition, oversight and co-ordination of reporting processes including identification of key dependencies and critical activities across Finance, Actuarial and Risk

Set up & attend meetings with Stakeholders & where necessary record the actions

Support the collaboration across Finance and wider teams (including 3rd parties) to ensure the provision of excellent customer service

Be an example to the rest of the FAL department as a person with unshakeable customer led mindset and encourage this thinking throughout Finance, Actuarial & Legal
About you

Communication – excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required for this role. Also, you should be able to demonstrate ability to change style and approach depending on the audience and message to be delivered

Organisation – Excellent organisational skills are required for this role including ability to juggle conflicting priorities

Confidence- The successful applicant will be working with Stakeholders across all levels of the Organisation as well as third parties. A calm, confident persona is imperative in this role

Pro- active- the successful applicant will be pro-active, seeking out new areas to support the wider Finance team, suggesting improvements & challenging the status quo to benefit the department

Reactive- Ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency when required- this is a demanding, time critical role

IT- the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate strong skills in Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook. Also an understanding of Oracle Fusion, Power BI & other analytical tools is desirable but not a pre-requisite

Project Management- Understanding the lifecycle of a project and methodologies, principles of Agile is desirable but not a pre-requisite
