An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part qualified Accountant to pursue and develop a successful career within a friendly, dynamic and committed insurance company. Due to our continued commitment for growth in our Leeds office, we have an opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance Operations team. The Finance Operations team are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial results and the control over the balance sheet to minimise risk.
As a Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of aspects of accounting and balance sheet substantiation activities ensuring the accuracy and consistency of underlying data, and will liaise with external and internal customers to manage expectations and ensure continued process excellence.

Your new role
Your primary responsibilities will include:

Detailed understanding of the Finance business plan to appropriately align service delivery

Contribute to the development of team’s business plan in order to maximize productivity and performance

Participate in meetings, as required, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.

Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.

Contribute and manage the refinement of process, procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency of accounting activities.

Provide high level advice, guidance and information on financial matters to support decision making and improve understanding on financial management.

Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations

In order to thrive in the role of a Financial Accountant here at QBE, we would expect you to have working experience in most of the following areas:??

Be a part-qualified accountant (for example ACA, ACCA or CIMA)?or equivalent or have relevant years of working experience

Have an in depth understanding of best-practice accounting (in an insurance environment preferred,?although strong candidates from other industries will be considered)

Have good working knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools?

Can demonstrate experience of structured process improvement in an accounting environment

Be confident building controls into processes?
