Finance Business Partner – (Management Accountant/Reporting)

Are you a qualified Accountant available in the near future to start a role based in St Albans? Ideally, we are looking for a qualified Accountant with experience in the education sector. In this interim role you will be responsible for the Management Accounts, Reporting, and Business Partnering for their sites.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for production of monthly management reports for purposes of budgetary control in terms of income, pay and non-pay expenditure.
- Prepare, review and moderate the budgeting and year-end processes; and assisting
- in the preparation of related reporting analysis forming a part of year end accounts.
- Support the introduction of a new Finance System.
- Support the Director of Finance in the preparation of regular reports to Corporation & SLT
- Support the Director of Finance in providing accurate and timely submission of
- financial returns to external bodies and funding agencies as required; assisting and advising the Director of MIS in relation to the checking and submission of funding returns to the relevant external bodies and funding agencies as required.
- Work closely with the MIS team to produce reports and analysis which add real value.
- Support all teams with regular reviews of financial performance by using variance analysis reports to monitor actual income and expenditure against budgets and ad-hoc financial analysis reports to support decision making.
- Monitor the progress of Internal Audit agreed actions, including ensuring reported progress has been made, as required.
Skills
- Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
- Experience of working in education would be advantageous
- Strong system and IT skills
- Good soft skills
This role will initially be office based, but after an initial settling in period there will be the WFH option.
