Job Purpose: As a Finance Business Partner within our dynamic Finance unit, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Faculties and Support Areas in business planning, funding, and resource modeling. Working closely with the management team, you will contribute to the efficient monitoring of financial activities, preparing management information, and aiding in the overall financial health of the College.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Costing and Monitoring: Evaluate and monitor the performance of course initiatives, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Budget Variances: Investigate and interpret variances to budget, providing valuable insights to enhance financial decision-making.
- Team Development: Collaborate with the College Finance Manager to develop the skills of Finance apprentices, fostering a high-performance team culture.
- Monthly Accounts Distribution: Distribute monthly accounts to Faculty and Unit Managers, actively participating in regular meetings to discuss performance.
- Payroll Management: Ensure accurate and timely posting of payroll data, maintaining costing data for comprehensive financial records.
- Statutory Compliance: Contribute to the preparation of annual statutory accounts, supplying necessary audit information.
- Budget and Forecasting: Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, liaising with other staff as required for comprehensive financial planning.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations and control account reconciliations, reviewing subsidiary ledgers to ensure precise financial data.
- Financial Reporting: Produce and manipulate financial reports in Excel, presenting key insights to aid decision-making processes.
- Systems Maintenance: Contribute to the maintenance of various subsidiary systems and ledgers within the finance unit to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Ad Hoc Tasks: Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post to support the overall objectives of the Finance unit.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant finance or accounting qualification.
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable.
